En våg av hatbrott mot minoriteter sveper över USA – efter Donald Trumps vinst

Donald Trump vill förbjuda muslimer att komma in i landet, han vill bygga en mur mot Mexico och kallar mexikanare för våldtäktsmän. Han har sagt otaliga sexistiska, fruktansvärda kommentarer om kvinnor och hånar folk med funktionsnedsättning. Detta är mannen många amerikaner röstade på i presidentvalet, mannen de vill ska leda deras land. Tillräckligt många röstade på honom för att det skulle bli verklighet. Efter Trumps seger har man sett en ökning i hatbrotten mot minoritetsgruppper i USA. Folk skriver rasistiska meddelanden på toaletter på high schools, de attackerar icke-vita och skriker att de ska deporteras, folk sprayar hakkors på offentliga platser och elever på en skola i Michigan (elever 11-13 år) skriker ”build that wall” i matsalen på skolan. Efter att Storbritannien valde att lämna EU i det så kallade ”Brexit” såg man en 57-procentig ökning i hatbrott, det verkar nu som att USA efter president-valet går samma öde till mötes.
