Bråkrecap: Taylor Swift vs Charli XCX

I nya låten Actually Romantic inleder Taylor Swift med raderna:

”I heard you call me ”Boring Barbie” when the coke’s got you brave
High-fived my ex and then you said you’re glad he ghosted me
Wrote me a song saying it makes you sick to see my face
Some people might be offended”

Charli XCXs disslåt om Taylor Swift

As far as we know börjar det hela i juni 2024 när Charli XCX släpper sitt Brat-album. En av låtarna, Sympathy Is a Knife, påstås handla om Taylor Swift. Bland annat pga följande rader:

”Don’t wanna see her backstage at my boyfriend’s show
Fingers crossed behind my back, I hope they break up quick”

(som ni säkert vet är Charli XCX gift med George Daniel, medlem i samma band som Taylor Swifts ex Matty Healy).

men också:

”This one girl taps my insecurities
Don’t know if it’s real or if I’m spiraling”

Det är ingen regelrätt disslåt, utan handlar till stor del om Charli XCXs egna osäkerheter.

Taylor Swifts nya låt ”Actually Romantic”

Och nu tros svaret ha kommit från Swift. Efter den hårda inledningen fortsätter låten:

”Hadn’t thought of you in a long time
But you keep sending me funny valentines
And I know you think it comes off vicious
But it’s precious, adorable
Like a toy chihuahua barking at me from a tiny purse
That’s how much it hurts
How many times has your boyfriend said
Why are we always talking ’bout her?”

Hur det står till mellan artistkollegorna vet vi givetvis inte.

Så sent som i augusti 2024 hyllade Taylor Swift Charli XCX i New York Magazine.

“I’ve been blown away by Charli’s melodic sensibilities since I first heard ‘Stay Away’ in 2011. Her writing is surreal and inventive, always.”

Hon sa också att Charli “just takes a song to places you wouldn’t expect it to go, and she’s been doing it consistently for over a decade. I love to see hard work like that pay off.”
